About Visit Lexington

The mission of the Lexington Tourism Authority is to market the attractions, events, and restaurants for Lexington and Davidson County, driving overnight stays to accommodations for the benefit of the local economy.  Our organization is divided into two operations – Destination Marketing Organization and Visitor Information Center.  The Lexington Tourism Authority is funded by a hotel occupancy tax and is managed by a Board of Directors.

As a DMO (Destination Marketing Organization) through promotion of our events, attractions, meeting facilities, restaurants and location in the state, we provide opportunity for individual visitors, groups and meeting planners to utilize our hotels, dine with us and visit our attractions.

The Lexington Visitors Center strives to make your visit to the area a memorable and pleasant experience by offering brochures and information helpful for planning your visit.  The Center also provides members of the community, media and potential businesses informational updates creating and maintaining public awareness on the importance of tourism.
