There’s a lot to do in Lexington…..

Experience firsthand why the locals say “there must be something in the water that turns it to paint” as you visit galleries of some of North Carolina’s best known artists.  The Bob Timberlake Gallery and Dempsey’s (Essick) Place serve as a showplaces of personal memorabilia for the artists.

From art to wine!  NASCAR owner Richard Childress’ Childress Vineyards is a showplace all its own.  The Tuscan styled winery features award winning wines for tasting in a Tasting Room that has been selected by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as one of America’s top 25 tasting rooms.  Then there’s Weathervane Winery, Junius Lindsay and Native Vines….you may want to designate a driver as you travel the Southern Gateway Wine Trail.

Stroll the streets of Historic Uptown and experience specialty shopping-no big box stores.  Located in a building rich in history, the old courthouse in the center of town now serves as the Davidson County Historical Museum.

No visit to Lexington is complete without a meal at one of the many famous barbecue restaurants.
