Summer Stroll & Cruise In

It’s a Sales Tax Free Weekend!  “Meet Us on Main Street” for the last stroll of the season.  In the Conrad & Hinkle Square, Denton’s own Oak Tree Boys will share the county & blue grass sounds that attendees at the Denton Square Dance enjoy each month.  Activities on the square include classic cars on display in all four quadrants.  In the monument square you’ll find Miss Charlotte, uptown’s mascot; art activities with Arts United for Davidson County, and Cruise In registration.  Many merchants will be open until 8 pm.  Outdoor activities may be impacted by rain or storms; however, merchants will be open!  For more information call 336-249-0383 or visit www.uptownlexington.com.

Yadkin Valley Youth Rodeo Association is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting western heritage through supporting children and young adults up to 20 years old.

August 3, 2013:
Melon Mania at the
Lexington Farmers Market
8am-12pm, Lexington Farmer’s Market

Join us for “Melon Mania Day” at the Lexington Farmers Market.  There will be a watermelon eating contest.  The children’s competition (12 and under) starts at 10am, participants need to sign up before 9:45am.  The adult competition (ages 13 and up) starts at 11am, adult participants need to sign up before 10:45am.  Space is limited to the first 12 competitors.  There are prizes for competitors who finish their watermelon first.  We also have a raffle for a basket of bountiful, fresh farmer’s market goodies.  Raffle tickets are $1.  For more information visit www.LexingtonNCFarmersMarket.com or call 336-242-2085.

August 6, 2013:  National Night Out

Coordinated by the Lexington Police Department there are exhibits by police, fire and safety units throughout Davidson County live performances by area musicians, games for kids, information booths set up by community organizations and free hotdogs and drinks while supplies last.  For more information call the Lexington Police Department 336-243-3303.

Boogie Nights with Mark Tuttle

Enjoy fine wines without the attitude and good music with some attitude!   Mark Tuttle and his Boogie Night Sound Machine will be at Weathervane Winery.  Bring your lawn chair and your dancing shoes to try out our dance area!  Award winning wine will be cold and ready for you to enjoy.  The music event is free.  No other alcohol allowed and must be 21+ to enjoy!
