OUTDOORS & REC
The Yadkin River has attracted a sense of adventure since early times, when a young Daniel Boone and his family lived beside the river before venturing westward. Today, the Daniel Boone Canoe Trail provides outdoor adventure on a 22-mile stretch of the Yadkin River with access points and historical markers. The 110-acre Boone’s Cave Park sits adjacent to the river and offers miles of hiking trails, while further downstream the river flows into High Rock Lake. The lake, which covers 15,000 acres, is the second-largest lake in NC and is known for boating, paddle boarding, swimming and fishing, particularly largemouth bass fishing.
